Students receiving a Gold Rating at the February 6th event at Elkhart High School are eligible for the prestigious State Solo & Ensemble event taking place in Indianapolis on February 27th. Group I is the most advanced level (usually advanced high school students), having to register a piece off of a required list.

We will take a bus from Goshen High School to Northveiw Middle School for the day. This bus typically leaves GHS at 6:30 AM regardless of the performance times of the students and will stay there for the day. When not performing, students get to enjoy hanging out, supporting each other, and listening to performances by students from other schools.

Students in state-bound ensembles are expected to take the bus to Indianapolis on Saturday morning or come down separately Friday night. This is to prevent a whole ensemble being in jeopardy if one ensemble member encounters unexpected delays or complications in their trip to Indianpolis.

We start organizing the ensembles for this event in October. Solo & Ensemble registration takes place in November. (Solos $18 / Ensembles $10). State registration fees are the same as the district event and take place at Elkhart High School immediate at the end of the day on February 6th. Specific times for the state event are assigned and released by ISSMA in mid February January.
