Goshen Community Schools is pleased to offer summer instruction for our orchestra students.  The Summer Orchestra program runs the first three weeks after the school year ends and resumes for the final two full weeks of the summer vacation.  We celebrate the end of the Summer Orchestra Program (and the anticipation of the upcoming school year) with a Thursday evening Summer Orchestra Showcase.  All classes take place in the Goshen Junior High School Orchestra Room (Room 720 / Door EE).

The 2026 Summer Orchestra Showcase will be Thursday August 6 at 6:00 PM in the Goshen Junior High School Auditorium. Free Admission!

Summer Beginners:  The primary focus for our Summer Orchestra program is to start a new group of beginning orchestra students.  It’s wonderful to get to start these students in these one hour classes in the summer.  The classes run Monday thru Thursday and are offered at three different times/sessions each day:  9:00 AM, 4:00 PM, & 5:00 PM.  In the summer beginner program, students receive their instruments, learn how to hold and properly care for their instrument.  They learn proper finger and bow technique and how to play a number of short songs on their instruments.  This provides them with a wonderful foundation on which to build the rest of the beginning orchestra year.  In order to continue having this program, it needs to run cost-neutral for GCS.  There is a $60 fee for this 20-Class Summer Program.

Summer Enrichment Orchestras:  We are blessed to have extra-curricular orchestra instruction for our non-beginning students.  Students can keep playing their instruments, learn a few new pieces, and enjoy making music with friends.  In order to continue having this program, it needs to run cost-neutral for GCS.  There is a $40 fee for this 10-Class Summer Program.
